FAQ for Error Code

Why does my printer say "Cartridge Not Recognized"?
This message can be caused by several factors. It is associated with the printer detecting the cartridge, usually via the circuit chip. First, check that you have the correct cartridge model for your printer. Secondly, use a dry, lint-free cloth or rubber eraser to remove any debris from the cartridge's contact points to ensure good connection with the printer. Thirdly, ensure that the cartridge is firmly installed in the printer. It should lock into place without protruding from the cartridge slot. If you continue to receive this message, it may be due to the printer having a newer firmware version. Firmware updates can disable the use of non-OEM cartridges.
Why does my printer show “Used, Refilled or Counterfeit Cartridge Detected” when installing your cartridges?
This message appears when non-OEM cartridges are detected. To proceed, simply press “Proceed,” “Continue,” “Accept,” “Yes,” or “OK” — these prompts do not impact printing functionality and can be safely dismissed.
Why does my new cartridge show "empty" or "low ink" when installed?
Some remanufactured cartridges may trigger inaccurate warnings due to OEM firmware restrictions. These alerts do not reflect actual ink levels — simply click "OK" or "Continue" to dismiss the message and resume printing.
Why this happens: OEMs program chips to block third-party cartridges, but rest assured your cartridge is pre-filled and fully functional.
What if the cartridge is not compatible with the printer?
Try removing and reinstalling the cartridge 1–3 times. Alternatively, you can clean the nozzle and chip with the included cleaning cloth before reinserting the cartridge.
How to clear an "Ink Cartridge not recognized" or "Missing or damaged ink" error message?
Turn off the printer and inspect the internal side of the carriage for visible damage to the contact pins. lf one (or more) of the contact pins is slightly bent, repair it with the tool until the pin is easily connected to the cartridge chip. Then gently, with a dry lint-free cloth, wipe the contacts on the cartridge and carriage to remove any dirt or residue that has built up during use. Replace the cartridge, turn on the printer and resume printing.
How to clear a "Non-HP Cartridges" error message?
After installing the cartridge, you may receive a "Non-HP Cartridges" message. Press "OK", “Proceed" or "Continue" to dismiss the message and continue using the cartridge.
The "Update" feature may prevent the use of non-OEM cartridges, so to ensure a continuous premium printing experience, we recommend that you disable automatic updates in "Printer Update Options" or select "No" when "Update Available" appears on the screen.
How to clear a "Low Ink" error message?
The printer may prompt as Low Ink or Empty (or similar message), you can click "OK", "Continue" or "√" to bypass what printer indicates and use the cartridge directly.
How to resolve error message issues?
Your printer might give you these error messages:
* Printer light blinks
* Remove and check cartridges
* Unable to print alignment page
* One or more cartridges damaged
* Incompatible print cartridge problems
(You may not receive the exact messages above but a very similar one)
Step 01 Take the cartridge out and use a cleaning wipe to gently rub over the chip several times.
Step 02 Reinstall the cartridge in the printer and turn the printer off with the cartridge installed.
Step 03 Unplug the printer and leave everything off for 2 minutes
Step 04 Turn on the printer and attempt to print again.
Step 05 If the printer still displays an error message after repeating the above steps (Step 02-Step 04) 2 to 5 times, please contact Customer Service and we will provide you with a "Return or Exchange" service.
